Who I Am

I'm Larry Barnard, Sr. Most folks call me Brother Senior. I'm not here to give you my opinions about God — there's plenty of that going around. I'm here to walk through the Scriptures verse by verse, so that when you close your Bible you know what the text said and not just what I think about it.

I've spent a lifetime working with my hands and studying the Word. I spent over forty years in the electrical grid system — twenty years as a power line worker, and twenty more as an electrical grid controller. And I'll tell you, keeping the power grid alive and studying the Bible have more in common than you'd think. On the line, you respect what's written in the book — you don't improvise, you don't skip steps because they're inconvenient, and you don't guess, because guessing gets somebody killed. And in the control room, you learn that everything is connected: touch one part of the system carelessly and the whole grid feels it. Scripture works the same way. Handle it carefully, follow it as it's written, and let every part inform the whole.

For many years I've taught the Bible in the Church of Christ tradition here in South Florida. Expository teaching — book by book, verse by verse — because I believe the text means what it says, and Scripture is its own best interpreter.

Why "Abdiel"

Abdiel means "servant of God." That's the whole ambition of this ministry, right there in the name. Not a personality, not a platform — a servant, handling the Word carefully and handing it to you plainly.

How We Teach

  • The text first. Every lesson is anchored in a passage, quoted in full from the King James Version, and we stay inside it.
  • Scripture interprets Scripture. When a verse raises a question, we let the Bible answer it — no traditions added, none subtracted.
  • Study material with every lesson. Each lesson comes with a free study guide, an outline, discussion questions, and a full transcript — so you can study with your Bible open, teach it to somebody else, or use it in a class.
